Saving while on a trip to Bali can be a challenge. Here are some tips for you to enjoy and save while you are on vacation in Bali:
- Avoid going to Bali during prime (May – September) and Holiday (mid-December to early January) seasons. Prices and crowds are bound to go up during these times especially during August.
- When shopping, don't be afraid to bargain. Merchants in Bali are known to over price their goods because they expect you to negotiate with the price.
- It is advisable to pay your purchases with a major credit card whenever possible. The exchange rate used by these cards is more likely favorable to you than when you exchange your foreign currency or travelers checks into Indonesian currency.
- When taking a taxi, specify to the taxi driver that you want the meter to run. Cab fare in Bali is a lot cheaper if you are charged the metered rate. If the driver has some kind of an excuse, it is best to get down and find another taxi. More often than not, the cab driver is just fooling you.
