Best Places to Visit in Versailles
Versailles was once the hallowed residence of French royalty. It is now a busy suburb of Paris with important historical attractions.

Traffic flows in the main artery, Avenue de Paris, which intersects Avenue de Saint-Cloud and Avenue de Sceaux. You'll find Salle du Jeu de Paume to the south of Place d'Armes. It was a royal assembly hall for the King and his court in 1686. Further South is Cathedral of Saint-Louis. In the northern part of Versailles is Notre-Dame church and the 18th century Musee Lambinet.

Perhaps the biggest attraction is Chateau de Versailles with its wide sprawling complex surrounded by gardens and historical buildings. A world heritage monument, the chateau houses the King's Grand Apartments, Museum of the History of France, the Hall of Mirrors, Marie Antoinette's estate and well manicured gardens still bearing that regal stature.

There are organized tours to Chateau de Versailles. Join one of these tours so you can have a thorough look into the bygone age of French aristocracy, as seen best in Versailles.
