Health Tips To Avoid Illness While Traveling
People who travel have the tendency to acquire travel-related illness. Although most are minor, there could also be illnesses that are endemic in the area of destination, especially outside the country. To make sure you stay healthy during travel, you need to do the following:

  • Have general check-up. Be sure that you are healthy before you travel. Bring a copy of the medical results so you get the needed assistance in case you get sick during travel.
  • Get vaccinated and update immunization especially if you are travelling to a place known for certain illnesses.
  • Pack as many medicines and medical kits. Bring the prescription and/or official receipt for validity.
  • Get travel insurance that covers health and hospitalization.


While you are in the place, be sure to eat and drink wisely; eating only trusted food source and drinks. Always put personal hygiene on top and avoid insect bites. As much as possible, bring along own utensils so you don't have to use these things from the place where you stay. Above all, be aware of health issues in the destination place and learn about the nearest hospitals and health assistance centers.
