A significant portion of the population suffers from motion sickness. It is can cause a lot of stress. In most cases, however, motion sickness is treatable and preventable. Here are some tips to help do that:
- Minimize Irregular Motion – To prevent motion sickness when travelling, minimize irregular motion. In a plane, you can do this by sitting on the half of the plane near the front and before the wings. Sitting close to the front in buses and trains will help minimize motion sickness too.
- Avoid Reading or Looking at Someone With Motion Sickness – Reading while on a moving vehicle affects your eyes and can make you dizzy or nauseous. Looking at someone who is sick can make you have sympathetic symptoms and you may develop motion sickness yourself too.
- Medication – It doesn't matter if you are taking organic meds or drugs from your pharmacist, the important thing is that you use what works for you and that you take it as instructed. Some meds may need to be taken an hour or so before travelling.
