Maui is a well-known place for fun under in the sun. It has great beaches, great sand and many fun activities that people can enjoy. When going to Hawaii, one of the places people must not miss to visit is Maui.

There are many beaches in Maui but there are selected few that have reached the top most favored beaches in the area. These beaches have become all-time favorites for its sand, water, scenery and various activities. One of the top beaches in Maui is Hamoa Beach located at the east side of the island close to Hana. Hamoa is famous for its waves and is the perfect beach to try out body surfing. Another great beach is the Black Sand Beach still located near Hana. Though this is not a white sand beach, its black sand makes it famous. The black sand is owed to the lava that cooled as it meets the ocean. It is also the only beach that features its own lava tube. Kahekili Beach has also reached the top most favored beach in Maui because it is a family-friendly beach and is also one of the most visited. If visitors want to experience the famous sunset of Maui, they should visit Black Rock. Other notable beaches include Big Beach, known because it is one of the largest beaches in Maui; Olivine Pools, which are mini pools that formed near the sea; Koki Beach which is a perfect quiet getaway in Maui; and the Beaches of South Maui.
