If people think that activities in Hawaii only involve the beach, they are wrong. Hawaii, or the Big Island, is a place full of many attractions and activities that will exhaust any tourist at the end of the day.
Beach-related attractions include the dolphin and whale watching cruises in the Honokohau Harbour. On one of these cruises, tourists get the chance to see various species of dolphins such as the Pacific bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins, and spinner dolphins. Tourists can also get lucky and spot huge humpback whales that migrate around Hawaii during the winter months. Scuba diving and snorkeling are among the legendary activities tourists must take when in Hawaii.
Other than marine animals, visitors can wonder at other animal species on land and air at the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo which boasts of close to 100 different types of animal species. Any tourist's Big Island vacation is not complete until he or she takes the Helicopter Volcano tours which lasts around 55 minutes. Hiking is also a popular activity in Hawaii where tourists are taken on trails around the Hamakua coast, Kona coast, the Crater Rim Drive, and the Saddle Road area.
