Traveling with Pets

Travelling with pets can be challenging. Ideally, pet should stay home and you can ask or hire someone to look after them. Then again, there are those instances when bringing a pet in travel is necessary. Here are some tips to help make travelling with pets easier:

Put Your Pets on a Leash – This is true even for pets that are normally friendly. Keeping them on a leash when outside the car or the hotel will help give you more control over any unexpected behavior.
Tag Your Pets – Tag your pets with the proper identification as well as your contact number. This is helpful in case there are problems or when you loose them in a foreign place.
Mild Sedation May Help – Consult with your veterinarian about giving your pets mild sedatives to help the make the travel easier.
Plan Ahead – Make sure that the accommodations that you will be using are pet-friendly or at least allow you to bring your pets with you.
Schedule Walks – Even if you are on a long drive, schedule regular stops where your pets can do their business and stretch out their limbs. Take this time to relax too.
