Albuquerque sits at the heart of Native American country and is fondly referred to as 'the land of enchantment.' Albuquerque is a modern city set in the midst of the plains of Northern Mexico surrounded by the Sandia Mountain Ranges to its north. The city is the gateway through which travelers pass on their way to Santa Fe.

Today Albuquerque remains as one of the main trade centers of New Mexico which is due in part to its location at the junction of several major US highways, making it easily accessible to travelers from various points.
