About Antalya
Antalya also known as Adalia or Attalia, is an attractive city located on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. In 2007 census, the population of the city was 775,157. The city was named Attaleai by King Attalus II of Pergamon in the 2nd century BC. Since then the city was continuously inhabited.

Antalya has a nice Mediterranean climate. It is situated on a cliff over the Mediterranean and the city is surrounded by mountains. In 1970, the developments in tourism transformed the city into an international resort. It has shady palm-lined boulevards, an amazing harbor on the Mediterranean. Lately, many foreigners such as Germans and Russians have bought property inside and around the city for their vacations or for their retirement.

Antalya is considered as the tourism capital of Turkey because of its spectacular nature views, rich history, and central location on the Turkish Riviera. Also the city's airport is one of the busiest on the Mediterranean.

Moreover, one of its major attractions is the Kaleiçi, a restored historical center; it has hotels, bars, clubs, restaurants, and shopping centers. Its restoration won a grand award in tourism, the Golden Apple Prize.
