Beldibi is a township located in the Marmaris District in Turkey. Marmaris and Beldibi belong to the Mugla Province in the Aegean Region of the country. The area is a popular tourist destination in the Mediterranean. Like the rest of Marmaris, tourism is one of the main economic resources in Beldibi.
The area is known for its natural beauty and it did not a significant construction boom until the later part of the 20th century. As of 2000, Marmaris, which houses Beldibi, has an estimated population of 28,660. The number of people in the area, however, swells dramatically during the peak of the tourist season. Marmaris and Beldibi enjoy a Mediterranean climate with hot and humid summers that are paired with cool and rainy winters. In summer, temperatures can reach 45 C and heat waves sometimes occur in the month of July. Winters are rainy and frost is a rare occurrence.
