Boston is the capital of Massachusetts and is the unofficial capital of New England. It is also the largest city in the state and one of the oldest in the country. In fact, it is the setting of several historical events including the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Bunker Hill. The city developed into a manufacturing center, major shipping port, and a center for medicine and higher education.

It is also home to the country's popular schools including Boston Latin School (the country's first public school) and Harvard College (the country's first college). Aside from having "firsts" in schools, it is also the first city in the country to have a subway system and is the first to hold the modern World Series in Major League Baseball.
Boston is home to several high-tech industries and universities but still manages to be among the top ten most popular US tourist destinations. Aside from Harvard University, the city is also home to several renowned schools, colleges, and conservatories.
