In the Borough of Bournemouth in Dorset England, Bournemouth known as a large coastal resort with a total population of 163, 444 in current Census in 2001. It is the largest settlement in Dorset. It is also the largest town on the south coast and the largest settlement between Southampton and Plymouth.

Bournemouth's progressed accelerated with the arrival of the railway, becoming a recognized town in 1870. In 2974, Dorset joined with the reorganization of local government and in 1997; the town has been administered by a unitary authority. Its location on the south coast of England has made it famous for tourist destination.

It is a regional center for business, home of the Bournemouth International Center and financial companies that include Liverpool Victoria and Standard Life Healthcare. Bournemouth was found to be the happiest place in Britain in 2007. It is said to be the safest place to live in England and Wale in terms of crimes.
