Cardiff is the largest, the most populous and the capital city of Wales in the United Kingdom. It is the base for a number of sport and cultural institutions, the center of Wales' commerce and the seat of the Welsh Assembly Government.

Cardiff has a number of landmark structures such as the Pierhead Building, the Millennium Stadium and the National Assembly for Wales. It is also famous for the St. David's hall, the Cardiff Castle, the Wales Millennium Center and the Llandaff Cathedral.

The Cardiff Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. It is situated in the heart of the city center and is a walking distance away from the shopping area of St. Mary's Street and Queen Street. The National History Museum at St. Fagans is also a popular destination. It is a huge open air museum that displays a number of buildings from throughout Welsh history that were moved to Cardiff.

Cardiff houses over 1,000 listed buildings and the structures range from being prominent buildings such as castles to smaller houses and structures.
