Carlsbad, a seaside resort town, is located in San Diego County, California. It is considered as one of the highest income places in the US and the most expensive coastal city in North County, San Diego. Even though the city is highly urbanized, ordinances have been drafted to keep parts of the city from any kind of development so that natural habitats of wildlife, especially those classified as sensitive, are kept intact and free from destructions due to urbanization.
Majority of the population of Carlsbad is White; the rest of the population includes African Americans, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, Asians, Hispanic, and other races. Many elementary schools, high schools, and middle schools serve the children of the town.
