Central is the central business district in Hong Kong. It is also called Central District and Choon Wan or Chung Wan in Cantonese. The area is also commonly known as a part of Victoria City. Being the central financial district in Hong Kong, this area is home to several important financial services companies. Consulate general and consulates that are assigned in Hong Kong are found in the Central district. Government Hill, which is the site of many government offices in Hong Kong is also located in Central.

The area enjoys a close proximity with Victoria Harbor and it has served as the center of business even in the early days of the British Colonial Ear. Central was also known as the 'Heart of Victoria City'. That name, however, is rarely used today.

Aside from being a financial and business hub, the area is also a transport hub and is served by buses, trains, and ferries.
