The city of College Station is in Brazos County, Texas, at the center of the Brazos Valley and part of the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area. This city was incorporated in 1938 and in 2006 estimated population is 86,000.
It began with the opening of Texas A&M College in 1876 which developed into an institution of higher learning. The campus also paved the way to community development and so in 1877, the Postal Service designated it as "College Station, Texas". They got this name from a train station just near the area. Research and projects involving various subjects in this campus are mostly funded by agencies such as NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research.
The city has a rich culture and it is the home of the George Bush Presidential Library attracting various dignitaries like Tony Blair, Henry Kissinger, as well as U.S. and international ambassadors.
This city prides itself as the most educated city all throughout Texas and it also ranked 11 as most educated city in the United States.
