About Como
Como is a city located in the Province of Como in the Lombardy region of Italy. It was founded by the Romans in 196 BC and is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The city of Como stands 28 miles outside of Milan and is found near the southwestern arm of Lake Como. It also serves as the capital of the Province of Como. The city is directly bordered by the Swiss town of Chiasso.

Despite the city's Mediterranean location, it does not have the typical climate for the region. Instead, it experiences a humid subtropical climate.

Like most of the old cities in Italy, Como is known for its historical architecture and structures. Notable attractions in the city include the Duomo cathedral, which was built in the later 14th century. The San Fedele church is also another popular tourist attraction in Como, this church was erected during the early 12th century.
