Daytona Beach is a Volusia County city in Florida, United States. It is known as the city that has one of the very few beaches all over the world where the hard packed sand of the beach allows motorized vehicles to actually drive freely even on restricted areas. It is because of this hard-packed sand feature that Daytona Beach has become an important place for motorsports. In fact, the Daytona Beach Road Course the city owns has hosted numerous races over the span of 50 years. In addition to the motorsports aspect of Daytona Beach, the city is also the headquarters of the Grand American Road Racing Association as well as NASCAR.

For many, Daytona Beach can be considered as seasonal town; however, for most, it is a year-round family-oriented resort city. In the past, Daytona Beach was considered as a place where spring breakers go to. However, over the recent years, vacationers have chosen other spots to celebrate spring break.
