Dorval is a city located on the Island of Montreal in the southwestern part of Quebec, Canada. A 2006 consensus estimated that the city had a population of around 18,088. It is one of the least densely populated areas in the West Island. The Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport is located in Dorval and it covers over 60% of the land area of Dorval and as a result, all of Dorval's population is forced into the southern portion of the city. The international airport is the principal airport in Montreal.

Founded in 1667 and incorporated in 1892, Dorval is the oldest city on the West Island and is one of the oldest in North America. The city was originally named Gentilly and later La Presentation-de-la-Verge-Marie before settling with the name Dorval. The establishment of the Grand Trunk Railway, which reached Dorval in 1855, was one of the main reasons that the city attracted wealthy families to settle in the city.
