About Eliat
Eliat is the southernmost city in Israel. It is also a busy port as well as a popular resort city located on the northern tip of the Red Sea. It is home to over 46,900 people and is part of the southern Negev Desert. It was founded on 1951. The city shares open borders with neighboring Egypt and Jordan. It became a free trade zone in 1985.

The city stands adjacent to the Egyptian city of Taba. The city is located in an area where the climate is that of an arid desert. It is, however, moderated with the help of its close proximity to the sea. The beaches, the desert landscapes and the nightlife in the city make it a popular destination for local and foreign tourists.

Economy in the city is many driven by tourism. The city itself is peppered with hotels and resorts that cater to local and foreign tourist traffic. Some of the most popular tourist attractions in the city include Camel tours, Dolphin Reef, Coral Beach and Nature Reserve, Kings City, Timna Valley Park and the Marina that has around 250 Yacht Berths. The city served by the Eliat Airport. To and from the airport, tourists can travel by bus or by taxi, hotel shuttles and cars. The city is also accessible by sea. International flights are also accommodated at the Ovda International Airport.
