Fajardo is a city in Puerto Rico, USA also known as "Los Cariduros" and "La Metrópolis del Sol Naciente" or the "City that Guards the Sun of the Caribbeab". It has a total area of only 156.45 km² yet this small city is very popular; around half (75.45 km²) of the city is comprised of water.

Although an American city, much of it, like the rest of Puerto Rico retains its being a Spanish city with Spanish as the primary language and English only as a secondary language.

With its large portion of waters, Fajardo is a major hub of recreation boating and launching to various islands in the vicinity. It also has the largest Marina - the Puerto del Rey - in the Caribbean. Much of the points of interest in this tourist city rely heavily on the waters - Bioluminescent Lagoon, Icacos and Palomino Keys, Isleta Marina, Puerto del Rey Marina, and Natural Reserve Las Croabas.
