About Fargo
Fargo is a city situated in North Dakota, United States. It lies in the Cass County seat. Being the largest city in its state, Fargo has a population of nearly 100,000 as per report of 2008 census. Together with West Fargo, Dilworth, and its twin city, Moorhead, Fargo became the center of the Fargo-Moorhead, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Fargo is known for being at the center of many things, including being a hub of manufacturing, retail, as well as education throughout the region. Its motto is the "Gateway to the West" and was founded in 1871. Before the city became as developed as it is today it used to be one of the first steamboat stopping points during its cruises down Red River.

Known for having two sister cities: Vimmerby, Sweden and Hamar, Norway, Fargo has four city commissioners and is headed by a mayor who works only part-time.

In July 7, 1893, terror struck the city as a fire broke out and left hundreds of homes and businesses devastated. However, despite the huge damage, Fargo proved itself to be stronger and quickly rebuilt the destroyed area of the city.
