About Flagstaff
Flagstaff is situated in North Central Arizona at the base of San Francisco Peaks, at the intersection of US Interstate 40 and Interstate 17. Its name is derived from a flagstaff erected in it for the Independence Day Celebration in 1876.

Flagstaff is the county seat of Coconino County that showcases the Lowell Observatory, Museum of Northern Arizona, The Arboretum at Flagstaff, Riordan Mansion State Park, Arizona Historical Society-Pioneer Museum. It also has popular ski resort, Arizona Snow Bowl, Meteor Crater, the Painted Desert, and Oak Creek Canyon. It also is a gateway to close by parks and monuments like the Sunset Crater National Monument, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Wupatki National Monument, Grand Canyon National Park, and the Petrified Forest National Park.

Flagstaff's location is ideal for daytrips and tours which provide many sightseeing opportunities, dining at restaurants with unique menus, shopping on local shops that feature Native American products, artwork and clothing, and slopes good for skiing. Entertainment in the area is prosperous with the constant all year events.
