Fremont is a city located in California's Alameda County. It was incorporated in 1956 as a result of the merger between five smaller communities in the area. The city was named after John Charles Fremont, the man known for being 'the Great Pathfinder'. Located on the south end of the San Francisco Bay, the city is home to an estimated 211,662 people (2007 Census estimate). It is one of the most populous cities in the San Francisco Bay Area; the 4th as of 2007.

Fremont tourists can enjoy the 'Family Water Play Facility' located in the city. It is build upon the Puerto Pensaco Swim Lagoon. The city is served by BART and AMTRAK stations as well as several interstates. The Altamont Commuter Express also has a presence in Fremont.
