Grapevine is a city in Texas, USA. It was once known as the Grapevine Prairie. CNNmoney.com named the city as on the America's Best Places to live (in 2007). The city was named after Grape Vine Prairie and Grape Vine Springs - these two were named after wild mustang grapes abundant in the area.
Grapevine was once an Indian tribe property but was later shared to settlers according to the treaty of peace, friendship and commerce made by 10 Indian nation leaders and Gen. Sam Houston and commissioners of the Republic of Texas. Currently, more than 85% of the residents are white while the rest of the population is comprised of Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, African Americans, and other races.
Attractions of Grapevine include Grapevine Mills Mall, Bass Pro Shops, Lake Grapevine, Great Wolf Lodge, and Historic Downtown. The city is served by various school districts including Grapecine-Colleyville, Coppel, Carroll, and Lewisville independent school districts.
