Jackson is a city located in the state of Mississippi, USA. Situated in the central part of the state, it is designated as the capital, and as the seat of Hinds County. The city is named after the seventh President of the United States of America, Andrew Jackson. Jackson was picked for his military heroism in his campaigns against Britain and against the Native Americans.
