Juan Les Pins is a town located in the southeastern part of France, specifically in the commune of Antibes in the Alpes-Maritimes. A major tourist destination for the elite set, the town has a number of casinos and nightclubs, as well as beaches which fine grained sand.
Naming the town was quite a hurdle, because the authorities had other alternatives in their list, such as Héliopolis, or Antibes-les-Pins or Albany-les-Pins. Finally, the Spanish spelling of 'Jean,' "Juan," was chosen, suffixed with 'Les Pins' to mean "Juan of the Pines," in 1882.
The town is most popular for the yearly jazz festival being held in the month of July. As New Orleans is its sister city, the celebration of carnival festivities and the pervasion of jazz music liven up the town scene during the festival. Several known and famous musicians have visited the town, like Al Jarreau, the legendary B. B. King, classic artist Little Richard, Chick Corea, music icon Ray Charles, along with Richard Galliano, and Wynton Marsalis.
