About Kahului
Kahului is a CDP (consensus-designated place) in Hawaii, USA. It is the center of retail trade in Maui County with several malls and big chain department stores and big-box retailers located in the area. It also has an airport and a deep-draft harbor. The Maui High School serves the area.

A little more than half the population of Kahului is comprised of Asians - only around 10% of the population is White, around 10% Pacific Islander, and the rest comprised of Native American, African American, and other races.

Points of interest in Kahului include the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Kanaha Beach County Park, Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, and the Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary. Climate in the CDP is ideal - with a generally agreeable weather, infrequent rains, winds, and rarity of hurricanes and severe storms. Even with these beautiful attractions and ideal climate, Kahului is regarded as a tourist destination.
