Kihei is located in the center of the west coast of Maui Hawaii and was referred as before "barren" because of its dusty and hot climate.
Kihei have three popular swimming beaches named Kamaole Beach Park I, II, and III which are known as best for safe swimming, snorkeling, and plenty of places to stay like condos and hotels nearby. Found in the heart of the town, is the Kalama Park which has a small beach but has a large lawn with picnic tables and baseball, basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts.
There are also many beaches in town ideal for swimming, wind surfing, relaxing and having fun in the sun. Two miles north of the town, Maalaea is ideal for early morning strolling and watching outrigger canoes.
The upmarket Wailea resort south of the town has two crescent shape beaches popular to joggers and to those who love to swim, snorkel and dive.
