About Killington
In Rutland County, Vermont, United States, you can find the town of Killington. With a small population of 1,095 in 2000, in this town you can find the Killington Ski Resort, the largest area for skiing in east of North America. This ski resort is famous for having 191 trails, the highest vertical and costly ticket prices of its 30 lifts.

It is in Killington that averages about 250 inches (6.4 m) of natural snow, in wintertime unlike any other area around it, thus making it one of the best places to ski.

This town was known before as Sherburne and it was only in March 2, 1999 that it was voted to use the name Killington.

In 2007, there have been plans of funding an economic development so it was proposed that a three cent surcharge on every dollar of property tax revenue shall be imposed. Unfortunately, this was not approved.

The Ottauquechee River also resides in this area, and its headwaters. This river is known for being a tributary of the Connecticut River.
