About King of Prussia
King of Prussia is an urban community located in the state of Pennsylvania, United States of America, with a small population of 18, 511. The community is named after "The King of Prussia Inn," a local tavern popular in the area in the 18th century. The tavern owner was in turn inspired by Frederick II, the King of Prussia, and named his establishment after the Prussian leader. Other origin stories indicate that the inn was named in reference to Benjamin Franklin's essay entitled, "Edict by the King of Prussia."

Rapidly developing, the King of Prussia is home to the largest shopping mall in the whole of America, the King of Prussia Mall. The consistent and fast urbanization of the area is an occurrence called 'edge city phenomenon,' wherein economic boom is concentrated not at the center of the metropolitan area, but at its periphery.

Aside from the mall, the Valley Forge National Historical Park serves as a major tourist attraction in the area. The park preserves the site where General George Washington and his Continental Army spent the winter of 1777-1778.
