Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta is the capital of West Bengal located at eastern India. It is India's third largest city and the world's eighth largest metropolitan area. The name was changed in 2001 which was told to be a way of removing the legacy of the British rule. Kolkata is said to be from "Kalikshetra" the seat of the goddess Kali.

Kolkata is India's major center for business, commercial, industry and trade and plays a crucial role in the economy of the country. Doing shopping here is not simple but tends to be gratifying because of the wide range of product selection from engineering and electrical equipment, cables and steels, leather, silk and cotton textiles with the famous saris, jewelries, transportation, and food.
