About Krakow
Krakow, located in Poland, is one of the largest and oldest cities in the country. As of a 1007 census, it is estimated that Krakow has a population or over three-quarter or a million people. It is located on the Vistula River and dates back to the 7th century. From the early 11th century to the late 16th century, the city served as the capital of Poland. It has always been one of the leading centers for artistic, scientific and cultural life in the country. Today, despite no longer being the capital, Krakow is still considered to be the spiritual heart of the country owning to its rich history and heritage.

The city is home to many famous landmarks including St Mary's Basilica in the Main Market. Other landmarks include Wawel Castle, Sukiennice Cloth Hall, the Zygmunt Bell, the National Art Museum, and the medieval St Florian's Gate. Historic centers in the city include the Old Town, the Wawel Castle and Kazimiez, all of which were included in the list of World Heritage Sites. The city is also known for its parks with 'Planty' being the most popular.

Public Transport in the City is based on a network or Trams and Bus Lines. Local trains are useful in connecting the suburbs and private minibuses augment the transportation in the city. Krakow is connected to surrounding Polish cities via the train system. The trains also connect Krakow to international destinations such as Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Hamburg. The Krakow Airports stands 11 km west of the city.
