About Kyoto
Kyoto a city in Japan was its political capital from the year 794 to 1868, before the government was transferred to Edo, or what is known as Tokyo. It is where the old ways of the imperial civilization are kept alive.

Kyoto is the home of famous electronic brands like Nintendo, OMRON, Kyocera, and Murata Machinery.

Aside from the geisha and Kabuki actors, Kyoto's environment gives the visitors an impression or feel of what the old Japan must have been like. This may be because the city was spared bombing at the end of World War II preserving it.

Tourism mainly contributes to Kyoto's economy. With its temples, shrines and old wooden machiva houses, seventeen major sites in the city were awarded UNESCO World Heritage status.

The city also held yearly festivals which attracts visitors. Some of these are the Ao-Matsuri on the 15th of May, Gion Festival on the 17th of July, and the Daimonji Gozan no Okibiri on the 16th of August. The number of people visiting the city makes it a great Japanese tourist spot.
