Laguna Beach is a seaside city settled in Orange County of California, United States. It is located around 39 kilometers south-east of the center of Santa Ana, and has achieved notoriety for its gorgeous beaches and for good hotels, shops, restaurants, and famed art galleries. In addition to its charm, Laguna Beach has also achieved fame for being the filming location of numerous TV shows and movies.

Laguna Beach's early history features the active participation of counterculture activists and artists. Although in recent years only a few artists have chosen to remain, the city is still among the wealthiest places throughout North America.

In 2004, the popular television station, MTV, started filming a reality show called "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County." The show revolves around the lives of young people who resided in Laguna Beach. The first season basically started with the lives of the said youngsters while they were still graduating from high school, and chronicles their progress through their next chapter of life. The success of the show has allowed the series to stay on air for three seasons, even becoming the second highest rated show MTV has created. Not only that but it has made the names of Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, and others a household name.
