About Long Island City
Long Island City, which is sometimes referred to as L.I.C., is the westernmost district of Queens in New York City. The city was originally the seat of government of Newtown Township and remains to be the largest district in Queen's Borough.

Long Island City is a few minutes drive away from Manhattan and has a subway or train station that brings locals and tourists straight to the heart of Manhattan and many other points of interests. It also houses the Midtown tunnel and the Queensboro Bridge.

Long Island City is home of the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center which is an associate of the Museum of Modern Art. The P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center is one of the largest and oldest non-profit art centers in the country and is devoted to contemporary art. Other points of interests in the area include the Queensboro Plaza Station, the Queens Center Mall, St. John's University, the Yankee Stadium which is the home of the New York Yankees, the Shea Stadium, the Arthur Ashe Stadium and the shops of Fifth Avenue.
