Mackinaw City is a village misnamed as a city. It is located in the Cheboygan and Emmet counties of Michigan, United States. The population of the village changes from time to time especially during tourist season. This is mainly because during the said season, there are a lot more seasonal workers that are in the village for the hotels and recreational facilities that are located at the Straits of Mackinac. The village is situated closely at the southern end of Mackinac Bridge which makes it easy to travel from the village to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

According to a census, Mackinaw City is considered as the most popular tourist spot in Michigan, closely followed by Muskegon, Traverse City, Ludington, and Sault Sainte Marie. Some of the attractions Mackinaw City has to offer is the Mackinac Bridge, Mill Creek, Old Mackinac Point Light, Fort Michilimfackinac, and Mackinaw Crossings.

A bit of history about Mackinaw City is known that during the time Europeans arrived close to Mackinaw City, the known tribes inhabiting Mackinaw City are: the Three Fires: Chippewa, Ottawa, and Potawatomi.
