About Marietta GA
Marietta is a city found in Georgia's Cobb County and is one of metro Atlanta's biggest suburbs. Not only is it one of the largest suburbs, but Marietta is also on the top 3 largest principal cities in the Georgia Metropolitan Area. Homes around the city have been built as early as 1824 by early settlers. According to the Georgia Gazetteer, Marietta was named after U.S. Senator and Supreme Court Judge Thomas Willis Cobb's wife.

One of the oldest buildings in Marietta is Oakton, which from the time it was built in 1838, has been continuously occupied. The original milk house, bar, smoke house, as well as well house remains in the Oakton property. The said residence served as the headquarters of Major General Loring around the time of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.

Marietta is high on culture, showcasing several productions and public events every year. In addition, wine tasting events are hosted regularly.
