Marina Del Rey, an unincorporated and most prized recreational area of Los Angeles County, California, is located between Long Beach and Santa Barbara. It is said to be a realization of a vision which started in the 19th century and had came true after a hundred years with the dedication held on April 10, 1965.
Marina Del Rey is owned and governed by the Los Angeles County and managed by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors. Areas of land and water are only leased to private leaseholders on a longtime agreement.
Nowadays, Marina Del Rey is a successful and a role model for other marinas worldwide. It would never be thought of as a "finished product", but as an "evolving marina" because of its expected continuous development and acceptance to change. Many people come here because of its known large and modern harbors, luxurious yachts, and excellent restaurants and shops.
