Mesquite is located in the Clark County of Nevada. The city has a total land area of 15.3 square miles. Mesquite is situated in the Virgin River Valley. It is a home of the retirees, as well as casino resorts and golf courses. It was first occupied by Mormon pioneers, and its first name was Mesquite Flat. Later, its name was shortened to Mesquite.
