Mong Kok or Mongkok is an English name of Mong Gok. According to Guinness World Records, Mong Kok's population density is extremely high and considered as the highest population density in the world.
Its present Chinese name is an area in the Yau Tsim Mong District on Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong, China. The name means flourishing or buy corner. Mong Kok was part of the Mong Kok District before a 1994 merge. Mong Kok district is characterized by a mixture of old and new multi-story buildings, with shops and restaurants at street level, commercial or residential units above.
Retail, restaurants including fast food and entertainment were among the Major Industries in Mong Kok. Most of the Mong Kok area traditional snacks such as fish balls, fried bean curd (tofu) and various dim sum and other finger foods that are very popular in Hong Kong.
