Monte Carlo is one of Monaco's administrative areas but it is not the capital of such country. Monaco's capital is Monaco-Ville. This place is located in the French Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea in Monaco which is near France and Italy. Current population is about 3,000.The name Monte Carlo has its origins in Italian meaning "Mount Charles", coming from Charles III of Monaco.
