New Delhi is the capital city of India and is located within the metropolis of Delhi. It serves as the seat of the Indian government as well as governing body of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Today, the city is known for its tree-line boulevards, houses, museums, and national institutions. It replaced Calcutta as the capital of India in 1911. New Delhi is served by the buses and a train service called the Delhi Metro.
