About North Miami Beach
North Miami Beach or NMB is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida in the United States. The area was first seen by Captain William H. Fulford during his Coast Guard Patrol. He, then, by 1897acquired a 160-acre land patent from President Grover Cleveland through the Homestead Act. In 1912, Lafe Allen, a former newspaper owner, together with an associate came to Florida and bought Fulford's land and more, planning to develop and sell lots and to create the "perfect city". The town was named after the Captain. The venture became a success until a hurricane struck the city in 1926. In 1927, to obtain funds for the recovery of the damage caused by the disaster, the local residents banded and the Town of Fulford was incorporated as the City of Fulford.

In 1931, the name was changed from Fulford to North Miami Beach to benefit from the nationwide advertising associated with the Miami Beach area.

Tourists come to the city because of the popular ocean beaches like the Haulover Park and Haulover Beach and the "clothing optional" beach managed by the Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation.

With the first rate facilities, outstanding police protection, and the excellent programs and services, locals and authorities of the North Miami Beach wants the city to be recognized as the city "Where People Care".
