Nottingham is a city located in Nottinghamshire, England and is one of the eight members of English Core Cities Group. Its name is derived from an Anglo-Saxon settlement Snotingham, a village of the Snot's people.
Nottingham is famed for lace-making industry in the 19th century which is responsible for its wealth.
It is popular with its link to the legend of Robin Hood and his merry men which may probably be the reason why it receives a considerable volume of tourism. Many visitors are drawn to Nottingham's nightlife and shops and history. Popular attractions are the Sherwood Forest, Nottingham Castle, City of Caves, Lace Market, The Galleries of Justice, and the City's ancient pubs. Although industry has declined, Nottingham's nightlife did not with its lively clubs and bars. So are its culture, shopping and fashion.
