
Park City is a town located in the Summit and Wasatch counties in Utah. It is one of the two major resort towns in this US state and is considered be both a part of Wasatch Back and Salt Lake City. The 2000 census lists Park City's population as 7,371, a number that is generally exceed by the tourist population. The city is also the location for the Sundance Film Festival, which is the largest indie film festival in the United States. The Forbes Traveler Magazine (2008) named Park City as one of the top 20 prettiest towns in the US.
There are three major ski resorts in Park City and they are the Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and the Canyon's Resort. The three resorts mentioned were the major locations for skiing and snowboarding events during the 2002 Winter Olympics. These resorts are popular to tourists because they are easier to access despite the fact that they receive a lesser degree of snowfall each year than the resorts in Salt Lake City.
Notable Park City residents include Barry Sims (NFL), comedian Bill Engvall, freestyle skier Tanner Hall, and Chief Justice Roger J. Traynor.
The city has also been the setting of several films including the movie 'I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer' and parts of the 1994 movie 'Dumb and Dumber'. Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl and Singer Josh Kelley's wedding was held in Park City. Courchevel in France is a Park City sister city.
