Pasadena is a city in the Los Angeles County in California, a state in the United States of America. Pasadena is famous for its role as the host of the annual Tournament of Roses Parade as well as the Rose Bowl football game. The city houses many leading cultural and scientific institutions including the California Institute of Technology, or more commonly known as CalTech, the Art Center College of Design, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Pasadena Playhouse.
The arts and cultural community of Pasadena is rich as evident by the various performing arts, visual arts and literature that dwell in the city. The Pasadena Symphony which was founded in 1928 offers several concerts at the Pasadena Pops and Pasadena Civic Center. The Pasadena Playhouse holds seven shows per season.
