Plantation is a city in Florida, USA; it has a motto of "The Grass is Greener". It was once owned by the Everglades Plantation Company from which its name was derived. America's Promise Alliance named the city to be among the country's "100 Best Communities for Young People". The 1996 Olympic Torch passed through the area
Even with Plantation being a "green" city, it is urbanized and has several industries, malls, and other infrastructures. It still promotes being green in is urbanization with a "mixed use" policy. It also has museums, several schools, churches, residential areas, and parks. However, it also has its fair share of problems - especially when Hurricane Wilma caused several damages to the city.
Several attractions in Plantation include the Plantation Heritage Park and the Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club. Various activities attract tourists to the city - these include hiking, sightseeing, and golf. The city is also home to several notable people in history and modern media.
