Reno is a city in Nevada whose major industry is tourism after gambling was legalized in the whole state of Nevada in 1931. Reno is a vacation spot for all seasons with its wide array of night entertainment, casinos and resort facilities. The city is also famous for quick marriages and consequently, quick divorces that is permitted under the state's liberal laws. All of these features have contributed to the city's slogan as The Biggest Little City in the World.

Reno was the previous gambling capital of the U.S.A. and though surpassed by Las Vegas after several years, Reno is still considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. It has an international airport and is the center for the manufacturing of automated gaming systems, beverage dispensers and metal and plastic products.

Reno has a variety of recreational activities that are both year-round and seasonal. Three majors of water are found in the vicinity - Lake Tahoe, the Pyramid Lake and the Truckee River. Several state parks, apart from the gambling areas, can also be found in the city.
