Richmond is an independent city in Virginia, U.S.A. It is the center of the Greater Richmond area and of the (MSA) or Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city has a significant and rich art community. It houses the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts which is one of the best art schools in the country.

In addition to its rich art community, Richmond also has several attractions including the Valentine Richmond History Center, The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Richmond Ballet, the Library of Virginia and the Richmond Symphony. There are also several historical points of interests that are located in Richmond, namely the Byrd Theater in Carytown which is a 1920's classical movie theater, the Museum of the Confederacy and the Virginia War Memorial which is a tribute to the people who died in the WWII battle.
